CCNet Constitution

HomePosted by Georgina Perkins Wed, August 25, 2010 18:08:20
Aims
CCNet is a group of individuals who live or work in and around Cumbria and who have a personal or professional interest in coaching. CCnet was formed in 2004 with the following aims:
~ Create a social and peer support network group
~ Promote standards of excellence in our coaching
~ Provide Continuing Professional Development for our members
~ Raise awareness of the benefits of coaching in Cumbria
~ We aim to be the first port-of-call when someone is looking for a coach in Cumbria.

Ethics
Our membership comprises people from different backgrounds and with different skills and experiences. We welcome anyone with an interest in coaching and recognise that we learn equally from our differences as well as our similarities. We ask all members to respect the personal and professional views of all other members. All members agree to adhere to the ICF Code of Ethics which can be found on the CCNet website.

Meetings
CCNet meetings are held monthly at various locations throughout Cumbria. Members are expected to attend at least one meeting per year to demonstrate their commitment to their professional development.

Group structure
CCNet is a not-for-profit membership based organisation with an annual membership fee. All members have equal rights and responsibilities.

We have a Steering Group whose role is to guide CCNet and handle the admin of running the group. The Steering Group consists of Chair, Treasurer and 3-4 other members. Although we do not have formal elections, we will ask annually if anyone would like to be on the Steering Group for the next year.

The group’s role is primarily to promote coaching as a whole rather than individual businesses.

All members must join individually - corporate membership is not available.

What is in a word?

Next MeetingPosted by Georgina Perkins Wed, August 25, 2010 18:00:11
The next CCNet meeting is on 17th September at Castle Court, Shap.

One of our new members, Fiona Silverbach will be running a session for us on NLP:

"What is in a word?
In our session we will explore the clues that words can give us to a persons world, if we can only hear them.
Amazingly we use very specific words that match how we are seeing or experiencing the world around us.
In this session you will start to notice patterns in how people voice their problems, hopes and situations that give you a much greater insight into what they are experiencing and how you can work in their patterns rather than your own."

See you here!

ARE YOU TOO SMALL?

NewsPosted by Sarah Craig Tue, August 24, 2010 16:37:08

Can I offer a group thanks to Georgina for managing the website and setting up the blog? Thanks George!

This is my quote from the month from Anita Roddick ...

'If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito!'

Aboodi Shabi at Rheged

Next MeetingPosted by Georgina Perkins Mon, June 21, 2010 10:03:18
Coaching to the Soul 16th July 2010
8.45am - 5pm Rheged, Penrith, Cumbria CA11 0DQ

A masterclass with the internationally renowned Aboodi Shabi

Deep listening to allow the authentic human being to speak.

Only £50 per person
Lunch included

“In this master class, we will look at how to truly deepen our capacity to be present to the client, to listen beyond the goals, and to leap beyond our techniques in order to serve the client in discovering the authentic articulation of who they are. The class will be highly experiential with plenty of coaching and reflective exercises.”

Places are limited, book NOW to avoid disappointment

Further information and booking form:

Aboodi Shabi

“In our increasingly rational culture, we have learned to invalidate that which can’t be measured or analysed. We don’t value that which makes no sense, or has no apparent purpose. We learn to communicate strategically, effectively, and intelligently, but at the expense of truly expressing ourselves. And, when we cannot express ourselves fully, our magic cannot show up. We might well be performing well against measurable targets, but we are like empty shells, living lives that are automatic and soulless.

I want to suggest that the human soul longs, perhaps more than anything else to express itself and be heard or seen. It doesn't need to be fixed, or told what to do next, or given a solution. It simply longs to be witnessed.

Coaching that doesn’t include this capacity to deeply listen misses out on the essential core of the client’s being, and can only really be “skin-deep”.

In this master class, we will look at how to truly deepen our capacity to be present to the client, to listen beyond the goals, and to leap beyond our techniques in order to serve the client in discovering the authentic articulation of who they are.”

Aboodi Shabi is one of the UK's most senior coaches, and a pioneer and leader in the UK and European Coaching community. He was a founding co-President of the UK ICF, and has served the profession at all levels internationally.

He has worked in the field of personal development for nearly twenty years, and in
coaching since 1996. In that time, he has worked with hundreds of coaches across the world.

Aboodi is a Newfield Network Certified Ontological Coach, and is currently Head of
Coaching and Training for Newfield Europe. He teaches in Newfield programmes in North America and Europe, and has also been an invited presenter on coaching mastery at several European coaching schools, as well as a popular speaker at coaching conferences.

Being certain in uncertain times

Events of interestPosted by Paul McGowran Fri, June 18, 2010 10:14:05

How do you cope with uncertainty? When all else around you is in a state of flux how do you remain an island of calmness and certainty? How about being able to achieve this state at will and more importantly show your clients how to remain certain whilst achieving their specific outcomes?

Based at the Lakeland School of NLP in the Mill Yard at Staveley, Nr. Kendal we are running a series of internationally accredited NLP programmes at Diploma Level (4 days), Practitioner Level (18 days) and Master Practitioner Level (20 days). Our programmes are renowned for the quality of teaching, the depth of knowledge covered and the amount of time you have to practise and hone your skills. With a policy of running with a restricted group size we ensure that the level of interaction and participation is maximised and this produces a wonderful climate where you experience at first hand the concept of rapport.

Training with us will open up a number of different pathways to continue your development within the field. After our practitioner programme you could enrol on the INLPTA NLP Coach Practitioner or the new and exciting INLPTA Organisational Development Consultant programme. After our Master Practitioner programme you have even more options...having choice leads to more choice and that means you will be certain of your success.

Visit our website and download the information or take a look at the attached flyer and take your first step towards a certain future.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards

Paul McGowran

Hi,

Hope you are going well.

I have had a flyer through from the University of Cumbria which includes this lecture at Energus. I have seen a taster from Steve on this subject and I found it superb. A blinding flash of the obvious that you haven’t quite thought of yet.

If you are interested in leadership and learning, particularly in a business context, then Steve has a wealth of research backed with practical commonsense.

I have booked in. Thought I would share in case you are interested?
